Immersive Installation
Complesso del Vittoriano, Rome
What did St. Peter’s Basilica look like in the Middle Ages? How was the interior of the world’s most famous church before its Renaissance transformation?
This immersive installation allows you to experience the sensation of walking through the central nave of the first St. Peter’s Basilica. Using historical documents and precious artifacts that have survived the many changes over time, we have faithfully reconstructed the church’s original appearance. It will be like stepping into a time machine and traveling back through the centuries to the era of Pope Innocent III.
